2024 will be the year for Viet Nam and Viet Nam's economy, said Vietnamese-born former German Vice Chancellor Philipp Rosler.

Dr. Philipp Rosler made the above remarks in an online interview with VGP on the threshold of the Lunar New Year Festival.

He mentioned the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the U.S. and Viet Nam during the U.S. President Joe Biden's State visit to Viet Nam on September 1. Two months later General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinpin also visited Viet Nam. This is also a sign.

In this January, German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier led a business delegation to vist Viet Nam. This opens a lot of opportunities for foreign direct investment and foreign trade in 2024 and very concrete.

Dr. Philipp Rosler said that Viet Nam has good relations with China, the U.S. and EU so the Southeast Asian nation is an independent player on the global economic markets. This itself is in the geopolitical heated environment a huge advantage. Viet Nam has a very skilled workforce, highly educated, quite good in English, hardworking, disciplined and both manufacturing as well as top tech production.

Commitments for Viet Nam

Dr. Philipp Rosler said that in 2024, he will return Viet Nam as he was tasked by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to help to build up a financial center in HCMC together with Minster of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung and Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee Phan Van Mai.

The center is expected to open up opportunities for lots of investment from banks but also giving opportunities for Vietnamese companies including SMEs, small companies of enterprises or bigger corporates to have better access to the global financial markets.

As member of Loc Troi Group's Board of Directors, Chairman of the Advisory Board of VinaCapital Ventures, the CEO said that I have a lot of commitments in Viet Nam, and all should benefit Viet Nam, Viet Nam's economy, and the people of Viet Nam.

In times when knowledge, competencies, are playing such an important role in the economy and beyond, he suggested Viet Nam should do everything in order to train and educate people. So it's not only to bring educated people to Viet Nam, but also educate people in Viet Nam optimally, so they can contribute and give back to their country.

He thought Tet is a ceremony not only celebrating the new year, but also to come together as a family. So it's truly a family event. He sent a message to all of the Vietnamese: "Wherever they are based, be it in Viet Nam, Ha Noi, Ultimate City, Da Nang, or even here in Zurich, we are one family. And let's work and be successful for this great family".
